The nomination door for women4Africa awards 2014 has just been opened. The prestigious award which seeks to celebrate and encourage women of African decent in the UK is now the largest forum for women of African in Europe.

As always done, the general public have the say in who gets nominated for this award by nominating their favourite candidate for each categories. The couple founders Mr and Mrs Onigbanjo speaking to C.Hub magazine earlier says, “it is the perfect time to get online to nominate that woman who has be doing remarkable thing in the society promoting the integrity of African women and making a contribution. It is in our special interest to see that women of Africa are appreciated.

Eligibility 

A woman is eligible to enter the ‘ Women4Africa Awards UK’ 2014 if;
• She is resident in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and has been so for a period of 12 months before the date of application. (This does not apply to those in the ‘International Category’)
• If she was born on the continent of Africa; or if she is born into an ethnic group or had at least two parents born into an ethnic group or groups, of African origin.
• Please note all nominees must be older than 18 on December 31, 2013.

The various categories include –

Group 1

  • Outstanding Mother/Grandmother of the year
  • Career Woman of the year
  • Business Woman of the year

Group 2

  • Young Achiever of the year (18-25)
  • Inspirational Woman of the year
  • Humanitarian of the year

 Group 3

  • Female Event Organiser
  • Media Professional of the Year
  • Fashion Designer of the Year

  International Categories

International African Woman of the Year

International Business Woman of the Year

International Media Personality of the Year

 How to nominate

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you know that falls into any of the listed categories (see categories link) please check that you or the person is eligible then send to an email to info@women4africa.com including the following:

  • A picture of the nominee
  • A brief profile in no more than 100 words as to why the nominee fits the chosen category.
  • A referee (someone who can verify the nominee) name and contact details.
  • Please state which African country the nominee is from.
  • Please include a contact email for the nominee.

 

In addition, please include in your email subject the words ‘Nomination’ followed by the category you wish to nominate them for e.g. Nomination:  ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
