It feels like January went on forever but now February is finally here. So many of us are still budgeting each month but we still want to look stylish. We have put together this post with some tips on how to make the most of what you already own and how to get some bargains.

Go to the shoe cobbler

Shoes have the ability to make or break your outfit and if you own a pair that are a little rough around the edges then that will let your whole look down. Instead of having to splash the cash on a brand new pair you should pay your cobbler a visit to see what they can do. Often they can clean them up for you by re-heeling or giving them a new sole. This can really save your bank balance especially if you have a designer shoe habit.

Buy pre-owned

If designer clothing is your thing then shopping pre-owned can save you hundreds of pounds. If you have a very tight budget you obviously aren’t going to be picking up designer pieces but if you’re looking to invest then checking pre-owned sites could be the way forward. You can pick up clothing, shoes and accessories for a fraction of the cost and sometimes items will even be brand new.

Try sales and outlets

While January was the prime time for sales that doesn’t mean you have missed your chance to pick up a bargain. Outlets are also a great place to visit as they are open all year round.

Invest in accessories

A simple outfit can easily be elevated with a stylish bag or a statement piece of jewellery.

Ignore trends

Religiously following trends means you will forever been keeping up with what’s in fashion. If you fill your wardrobe with classics instead then you will have a range of fail safe outfits that always look good.
