We don’t always have the spare cash to be spending out on more expensive clothes, and to be honest we don’t always want to anyway. There are a few ways you can still buy from the high street but give the impression that your outfit cost a little bit more.

Fabric and Detailing

Before you buy an item take a look at the fabric it’s made from. You don’t want to choose something that will go out of shape after you wash it. You also don’t want the colour to fade or it to go bobbly. Fabric with a bit of detailing or texture like lace also helps to give more of a luxury appearance.

Shop the High Street

Not everyone wants to buy designer and this is why high street shopping is so great. You can pick up dupes for a fraction of the designer price.

Think About Your Accessories

An outfit can be elevated by the accessories you choose to wear with it. You don’t have to go for that Gucci handbag, consider shopping from more affordable designer brands like Michael Kors. These bags are a couple of hundred pounds but that is still significantly cheaper than Gucci which can be over a thousand pounds. Items like sunglasses and watches are a very easy way to introduce a hint of designer to your wardrobe. Your footwear is also something to think about. Scruffy shoes will let your outfit down more than a smart, clean pair.

Purchase a steamer

Getting your hands on a good steamer will get rid of any creases that can make your clothes look cheap. A steamer is also great for pieces that you can’t iron.

Get Items Tailored

If your clothes don’t fit properly it really is worth getting them taken in. Outfits that fit well look a lot better than expensive outfits.
