Ethiopia inspired Bella Hiwot Designs at Divas of Colour

Ethiopian inspired designs by Designer Bella Hiwot at Divas of Colour 2017 International women’s festival which saw high profile international figures, brands, designers and models has been described as relevant, informative and fun.

The hugely successful Divas of Colour festival saw a diverse range of both international and national designers.

One of the most interesting designer brand this year was, Bella Hiwot from California USA. Bella Hiwot is inspired by Ethiopian fashion and culture. The unique designs by Bella Hiwot are made with 100% of it’s materials sourced from Ethiopia; pure cotton and silk, and totally handmade.

As a little girl, Hiwot found herself immersed with anything that was related to fashion, design and colours. She said, “It was always part of my culture. Growing up handcraft and making something out of a simple fabric into a wearable art. Today I have a vision to share and appreciate this art with many other people around the world.”

The soul of Bella Hiwot brand is beautiful and challenging imagery, to support, to close the gap in girls education in Ethiopia and beyond.
