Serena Williams withdraws from French Open.

Serena Williams the 23 times grand slam winner has just withdrawn from French Open due to a right pectoral injury.

This comes ahead of the world champion’s fourth round match at the French open against Maria Sharapova.
Leveraging from the news, Sharapova has reached her first grand slam quarterfinals since 2016 Australian open.

Speaking, Serena said, “I unfortunately been having some issues with my pectoral muscle, right now I can’t actually serve so it’s actually hard to play when I can’t physically serve.”
“I’m beyond disappointed. I gave up so much for the time with my daugther and time with family. I put everything on the court, all for this moment, so it’s really difficult to be in this situation.”
“In my doubles yesterday I tried alot of different taping and support. It didn’t get a lot better. I’m going to get an MRI tomorrow. I won’t know if she will be fit for the … season until I get these results.”
“Every match has been getting better, physically, I’ve been great. I can only take solace in the fact that I’m going to vet better.”

This will be the 16th time Serena has had to walkover in her career but this would be the first time she has had to walkout from singles in a middle of a grand slam.

Serena’s record is a clear evidence of her prowess as a tennis player and an undisputed champion which flaws speculations that its fear of Sharapova that’s made her withdraw.
