Cristiano Ronaldo Clinches The Highest Goalscorer Of All Time After Scoring His 111 Goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo Surpasses Ali Daei as the All-Time Men’s International Football Highest Goalscorer 

With a late brace in the Portugal and Republic of Ireland clash in a World Cup qualifying match, Cristiano Ronaldo has now broken the all-time men’s international scoring record. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner makes more history for his country by displaying his prominent goal-scoring instincts yet again with a header in the 89th minute at Estadio Algarve to provide an equalizer for his team to make it 1-1 before adding one more at stoppage-time to win the game 2-1 for the Portuguese side.

His new feat of scoring 111 international goals profiles him as the most prolific player to ever grace men’s international football. Ronaldo at full-time: “This record is mine and it is unique. I’m extremely happy and it’s another one for my career. It’s about motivation and the desire I have to continue playing football, also from this last contract I made, in which I was happy to return home. If we get up every day with the ambition to motivate and do better, to make the fans and our children happy, that is essential. It’s another record for the museum.”

The new Manchester United signing equalled the 109 international goals record of Ali Daei in the group stages of this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament scoring twice in a Portugal 2-2 draw with France and he has now moved past the Iran legend in terms of international scoring with his latest achievement. 

He also scored twice in Portugal’s first game at the last Euros against Hungary to move two ahead of German great Miroslav Klose to become the tournament’s all-time leading scorer with 11 goals. 

In his 180th game for his country since making his debut in 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo ties now with Spain defender Sergio Ramos as the European man with the most international appearances and he had used this match to record his 110th and 111th international career goals.
