image UK Nollywood Producers Guild, a collection of Nigerian Producers in the UK joins the campaign as the pressure mounts on Nigerian government to #bringbackourgirls. According to their spokesperson, “we don’t just want them back but the government should “Bring the kidnapped girls home safely. Please do not allow them to be sold into Sex Slavery. The world is watching how we will handle this situation.”

The group is said to be leading a ‘stand in solidarity’ with all the mothers and families of the kidnapped girls Protest at Nigeria House, 9 Northumberland Avenue, London WC2N 5BX, on Friday, 9th May, from 10am to 1pm. They’re urging people to come and join them in this protest. Nollywood is a major stakeholder in Nigerian affairs and culture since entertainment and movie making has become one of Nigeria’s export. Nollywood is the 2nd largest movie industry in the world covering over 10% of Nigeria job market.

This latest heavy weight call for the release of these innocent girls comes as it’s reported that the US has offered to give a military support to Nigerian government to find the girls safely. The world is watching, and the pressure continues to mount with protests from various groups from around the world. Similar protests have been noted in New York, Canada, UK , Nigeria and other places, involving both the young and the old.
Could this reckless and expensive joke by Boko Haram be the very act that will eventually bring the group to their knees? Whatever the case, the most important matter for us and the families of these girls now is #Bringbackourgirls .
