Music of Black Origin Awards – (MOBO) has been cancelled for 2018. The awards show which is the most popular in supporting and promoting British Urban music for 21 years, has been cancelled for this year.

According to a statement posted on the organisation’s official Twitter page, the founder, Kanya King  said the move is to expand the scope of the organisation beyond the annual awards.

She says, “We understand the Mobos will be missed this year but we will return next year, bigger and bolder,”

The MOBOs was established in  1996, and has been running since  21 . The awards caters to ‘the best in British urban music and culture’, acting as a corrective to the pop and rock-focused Brits.
