Didier Drogba blasts racist French Doctors’ idea to test covid19 vaccine on Africans.

Many Africans woke up to the shocking live discussion on a French national TV where two Drs appear to suggest coronavirus vaccine be tested on Africans. The pair have been widely condemned by well-meaning Africans on social media.

Didier Drogba is one of the prominent Africans to take to Twitter to express their disgust at such racist and undermining comments from French Doctors and journalists.

In his tweet, Drogba has called such discussions, inconceivable, demeaning, disgusting and racist.

“It is totally inconceivable we keep on cautioning this. Africa isn’t a testing lab. I would like to vividly denounce those demeaning, false and most of all deeply racists words.”

Continuing, he begs fellow Africans to help flatten the curve by observing the social distancing and self-isolation as advised by WHO.

“Helps us save Africa with the current ongoing Covid-19 and flatten the curve. Let us save ourselves from this crazy virus that is plummeting the world economy and ravaging populations health worldwide.

Again he warns, “Do not take African people as human guinea pigs! It’s absolutely disgusting…”
Speaking to African leaders he said, “African leaders have a responsibility to protect their populations from those horrendous conspiracies.”

Concluding he wrote, “May God protect us!” @didierdrogba

Earlier, a live TV discussion between two French Doctors and a journalist was captured by worried viewers who share same on social media to alert the world.

Translating their discussion as follows:

Dr Mira: “If I can be provocative, shouldn’t we do this study in Africa, where there are no masks, no treatment, no resuscitation, a bit like it has been done in some studies in AIDS, where among prostitutes, we try things because they are exposed, and …they don’t protect themselves, what do you think?”

Dr Locht: “So you are right[…]we’re thinking in parallel to a study in Africa precisely to make this same type of approach w/ BCG [vaccine]placebo, I think there is a call for tenders that were released or that will be released & I think we will indeed seriously think about that too”

One user wrote: This is horrific. Two French doctors on live television are discussing how a potential new treatment against #covid19 should be first tested in Africa, “where are no masks, no treatment, no reanimation”, “the same way experimental treatment for AIDS was done on prostitutes”.

It’s 2020 in France &we still see people from Africa as subjects for experimentation. This is what normalized racism looks like.AFAIK, nobody jumped in to counter the arguments, both doctors agreed. Same, the way sex-workers are considered: like objects that can be used for tests.

Many Africans are now taking to social media to call on African leaders to not accept this obvious war on the lives of Africans and the same question is being asked over and over. “How is it that entire Africa has the lowest count of coronavirus infections and deaths yet these enemies of Africa are so obsessed with testing their vaccine in Africa?”
