As 2016 comes in perspective, preparations for International women’s day are underway across the globe. C. Hub magazine in collaboration with Divas of colour will continue to bring you insight into the contributions that Women of colour have been making in different sectors.
The Author Prince Ezem Ihenacho in his book ‘Humility Of The Brain, in defence of humanity’ noted in explaining his ‘five finger theory’, states that, ”
everything about life routes primarily from the woman and they are pivotal in the foundation laying process of the children of this world who become leaders tomorrow.
If we really want to correct the social ills of our world; we must focus firmly on the girl child. The mother who is never absent at the birth of her baby will spend more time with the baby more than anyone else during the formative years (0-5). Now imagine what a child will be observing during those years from an academically and morally sound mother? (Ihenacho 2014).
Now in view of the author Eze Ihenacho’s analogy of the importance of the woman, it is necessary that we highlight more of the achievements of women of colour and their contributions in nation building if we truly want to create the communities we want.
Therefore, we urge you to be part of our weekly series of coverage on the positive parts women of colour have been playing and continue to play in our communities . Our focus will be on all sectors from academics to entrepreneurial, inspirational and more.
What women do you suggest we talk about this period of honouring women? Join the conversation, comment, tweet us on @C_hubmagazine with the hash tag #Womenofcolourseries
