Let’s be honest, there are times when we want to shop but we don’t really want to have to leave the house. Online shopping has so many advantages like being able to shop while wearing your pyjamas. There are also some disadvantages like ordering clothes only to find that they don’t fit and then having the hassle for trying to figure out how to send them back. We have some handy hints that will hopefully help you to shop online without any stress.

Measure yourself

We all tend to go by the general sizes of clothes but what is a 12 at one store may feel like an 8 in another. The best way to ensure a good fit is to regularly take your own measurements. When you shop you can then check the size guide to work out which dress size you are.

Make a note of favourite stores

It is also helpful if you are pleased with the fit or a particular brand to keep a note of which size you wear there. I know that if I’m looking for a new pair of jeans which stores will give me the best fit and what size I should go for. Likewise, I also know which stores I should also avoid.

Alterations

Sometimes even if you know your measurements choosing the right size can still be difficult. If there is an item that you absolutely must have then it would be wiser to go for the larger option and then have it taken in for a perfect fit. This is a much better and more flattering option than squeezing into a smaller size.

Returns

The first thing I check when visiting a website is their returns policy. If it isn’t immediately clear how to return an item of the process is far from straight forward then I won’t bother shopping there. If returning clothing is really easy then you can always order two sizes of the same item and return then one that doesn’t fit as well.
