Following these calls and reports, the Nigerian government in 2017, 2018, and 2019 each time, announced either reformation or disbandment of this unit.

Hushpuppi who poses as a successful real estate businessman with a large following of over two million followers on Instagram has been arrested by Dubai Police during an elaborate operation dubbed Fox Hunt 2 in the country by the men of Dubai police operatives. This follows a similar operation busting an African cyber crime gang running a similar scam in February 2019,where Dh32 million -- $8.7m -- was stolen from victims.
