She becomes the youngest player in the history of women tennis to win the US Open tournament and she won it on her debut. 2019 is a year Bianca will never forget for good in her life. She has claimed victories in Indian Wells, Rogers Cup and now the US Open. Andreescu becomes the first Canadian Singles Grand Slam champion. Bianca is the first teen to win a Grand Slam title since 2006 when Maria Sharapova at the same age won the tournament too. According to Tennis.com, Bianca’s US Open win will move her ranking to number five in the world. This ties her with Eugenic Bouchard as the highest-ranked Canadian woman ever. The US Open final was the second time Bianca and Serena met this year. Bianca was confirmed the winner of the 2019 Rogers Cup in the first set of the tournament after leading 3-1. Serena Williams retired the Rogers cup final due to injuries. Bianca showed Williams yesterday that the final she won about a month ago wasn’t a fluke, as she defeated active legend (Serena Williams) 6-3, 7-5 to claim her first-ever US Open and Grand Slam title.

Bianca Andreescu beat Serena comfortably in the first set. Bianca continued her dominance in the second set with an early break and served to take the match while up 5-1, but Serena found her mojo back and tied the second set at five. Andreescu fought back and did what is required of her to win the title. She becomes the first Canadian tennis player to win a singles major.
Serena Williams hunt for a 24th Grand Slam title continues. Serena has now lost four straight Grand Slam finals. Majority of the game lovers all over the world wanted Serena to win this year edition of US Open but brilliant Bianca was too strong for her to beat. Bianca said: “I know you guys wanted Serena to win, so I’m sorry.” jokingly to Serena Williams and the fans yesterday.
