Manchester United and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua have both come to an agreement in extending the loan deal for Odion Ighalo. This new contract extension awarded to the Nigerian born striker simply means that he will still be available for selection to help his dream club perform well in the remaining part of the 2019-2020 English league campaign that is about to restart on the 17th of this month.

Initially, the loan deal that brought Ighalo from his parent club side (in China) to Old Trafford about 5months ago was due to end on the 31st of last month but the new deal he just signed some few hours ago will see him remain a Manchester United striker until 30th of January 2021.

The 30 years old former Watford forward has had eight appearances for the red Manchester club side since he materialized his dream move on the last day of the winter transfer window this season. In these games, Ighalo made three starts, scored 4goals, and recorded just one assist. Club Brugge (Europa League), Derby County (Capital One Cup) and Lask (Europa League) are the matches he had only started for Manchester United this season.

Manchester United is expected to have completely paid Shenhua for the initial five-month stint Odion Ighalo had with them and it is best believed that the Chinese club side that owns the former Super Eagles striker is very likely to receive another payment from the Red Devils for the extended period.

Manchester United Boss, Ole Solskjaer, was impressed with the latest development concerning the contract extension of Odion Ighalo: “They (Shanghai Greenland Shenhua) have been great towards us, allowing him to play for his dream club. It’s been a dream for him and hopefully, he can finish what he started and win a trophy with us.”
