Nigeria Vs Libya match went goalless for the opening of the  Africa Mini Football Cup of Nations, Saturday.

The opening game of the Africa Mini Football Cup of Nations was held on Saturday  in Ibadan. The tournament  brings together Mini Football playing Nations in Africa. 

The opening game between Nigeria and Libya ended in a goalless draw. Although the Nigeria side played a good game and were the favourites to win. 

Nigeria is expected to lead the group A, which has  Libya,  Djibouti,  Zambia, and Senegal.

The Imo State Mini Football Association Chairman and Assistant coach of the national Mini Football team, Mr Chigozi Nwagwu said, “the performance is a reference point to what is expected at the championship from the Nigerian team.”

He said, “the tournament has grown technically in the last few years.

 Although Nigeria played out a goalless draw in her first game of the championship with Libya, the team however, created lots of scoring opportunities in the game.” 

He  added, the players and technical Crew are strategically working out ways to improve the goal scoring performance of the team in their next game.

Nwagwu, who is also the  CEO of G Innovation football club of Lagos concludes that the players are ready to make the nation proud at the tournament.
