12 year old German/Nigerian painter uses art to convey that animal lives matter too.
Inspired by her quest to describe humans in the character of animals, Chioma continues to excel.
“Because I don’t like to draw or paint human beings, I find a way to describe people in my own animal kingdom, and paint who they are in my own version and fantasy. ”
In her most recent exhibition at Jambo Africa on the opening of African week, 10. 11. 18, in Augsburg, Germany, organised by Natashia and Julia of Afrikanische woche. Chioma uses her painting and presentation to encourage kids to learn how to believe in their dreams and go for it.
“The exhibition was about showcasing talents, so the paintings were to encourage kids to learn how to believe in their dreams and go for it. It was a different type of painting saying you can do your own creation no limit to what you can be.”
At 8 years while in primary 3, Chioma had her first art exhibition at One of Germany’s largest bank, sparkasse, Meitingen branch, after she won best art award in a competition organized by Raiffeisen Bank.
Since then she has also had 2 times exhibition in Munchen , courtesy of Sonne Magazine. 2 exhibitions in Ausgburg at Afrikanische woche. So far in all, she has done 5 exhibitions at the tender age of 12 and looking forward to her next exhibition, “big one at our local government office.”
Asked what message she wants to convey through her painting, she said,
“I want them people to see and know that animal lives matter. I want them to see the beauty, peace, love and the strength in my painting and able to relate it to human lives.”
“A man that bought my painting saw the love in the two fox and was able to relate that in his relationship. That made me happy.
I also love when people couldn’t understand the painting and describe it in a different view like mine.”
Miss Mayrschofer’s painting isn’t influenced by any other painter as she is still developing and doesn’t stick to one particular style of painting.
“I don’t really have a role model, because I do not stick with one particular style of painting. I’m still developing my style and design, but however there are people I have big respect for, especially now that I am into OC- (original Character) or art Amino, I enjoy seeing other people’s arts , both young and old, I got inspiration from them.
