Nigeria V Croatia worldcup 2018
Nigerian fans are left bemused after a lacklustre disappointing group opening in the 2018 world cup where Nigeria lost to Croatia with a 2-0. Leaving Nigeria at the bottom of the group D table with a minus two points.

Nigeria left fans worried when in the first 18 mins into the game when Nigeria made no single attempt with a shot on target and had made only one touch in the Croatia box.

First Goal: 32 minutes Croatia scores against Nigeria.

Etebo, Nigeria’s #18, midfielder helps the opponent with their first goal in the lead. An excellent cross had caused a severe trouble in the Nigeria box as defenders scramble to clear the box. Croatia Mandzukic takes a header which deflects off Etebo creeping past Nigeria’s teenage goalkeeper , Uzoho.

At half-time, there’s still not been any single shot on target from both sides making the Croatia – Nigeria game the first in this world cup to hold such record.

2nd half, 2nd goal: 71minutes- Nigeria concedes another goal.

Nigeria is 2 goals down. Mandzukic again causes trouble in the Nigeria box as Troost-Ekong is booked with yellow card after pulling back and wrapping his two arms around the striker. A foul that’s not been missed by the referee who immediately awards a penalty. At this point, Nigerians were left flatfooted and fans left with their mouths ajar.

It’s a goal as Croatia’s Captain, Modric sends Nigeria Uzoho the wrong way with a beautifully taken penalty and it’s a goallll…
Croatia 2 – Nigeria 0.
